Fabienne Spier is French, from Paris.
She studied at the Ecole Normale de Paris Auteuil and at the University of Paris Nanterre, receiving her teaching certification in the French and English languages.
She taught nine years in France. She then moved to the United States with her American husband, first teaching French language and civilization at Georgetown University for 15 years.
Mme. Spier has taught at George Washington University since 2010. She is also a tenured professor with the French Ministry of Education, currently on extended leave in the United States.
