Portuguese Open Position

The Portuguese Language Program at the George Washington University invites applications for a part-time position as instructor of Portuguese with an initial appointment for one semester to teach language courses (pending sufficient enrollment). Appointment renewal is contingent on successful performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Include teaching one Portuguese language courses, holding office hours and supporting the program in cultural and academic activities.

Minimum Qualifications

M.A. Degree in Portuguese Language Pedagogy, Second Language Acquisition, or similar field; experience teaching Portuguese language at the college level; extensive knowledge of instructional technology applied to classroom language pedagogy, demonstrated teaching excellence (student evaluations, classroom observations, other) and excellent working (professional) command of English and Spanish (oral and written).
